So a weird one for you. I have the radion blues and I just can’t see anything really on the yellow tang. But the ambient light from outside the tank showed what appeared to maybe be ich?

I need another set of eyes. I tried to put on all whites with the LEDs but it’s impossible to see anything. These pictures were the best I could do by utilizing lights outside of the tank as well as some from the LEDS.

Eating like a pig still and still acts like he’s the boss so not much as changed there.

Can I ask how big are the fish - i.e. is it a small yellow tang? The fins look a little ragged. ff I look closely there are a couple spots on the dorsal fin - I'm not sure I see HLLE - but I see what @vetteguy53081 means. Have you quarantined the fish, how old, what are your parameters, any other symptoms? You can use an orange filter on your camera that should also help.

Small baby yellow from Biota.

All fish I buy are quarantined in store as I don’t have any room in my apartment for another tank. I havent heard of anyone having issues from the quarantine process the store has so I figured I’d have the same luck. Fish has been in the tank for 2-3 weeks. Not rubbing against anything that I have seen and is a pig with food.

Parameters are 9alkalinity, 350 calcium, 1300 mag, ~20 nitrates but probably less as I fed heavier earlier, and phosphates are extremely low around .02

I’ll try again with another photo but it’s super hard to get him as he’s at the back of the tank now with it being night time.

Poor thing. I had to get a super bright flash light.

It’s currently hiding at the top return pump where my clowns usually sleep.

There is no luck. Assume always fish have something despite quarantine process and do your own even for at least 14 days to prevent a whole tank issue and treatment requirement. This is typical of a biota tang and go easy with feeding despite its appetite as these fish become easily bloated. Under white lighting I now see absence of HLLE . Fish will fill and color nicely as time moves forward

So those white spots don’t appear to be anything to worry about?

I have kept yellow tang over the years and they are susceptible to ICH. Mine tolerated either a fresh water dip and/or a Methylene Blue dip. The latter being most effective. As a prevention though, always feed it food with garlic.

Here’s a quick video this morning. Can’t see much on body but I think on fins you can.

Spots on the fins is the best way to differentiate ich from mucus plugs - I think this is the start of ich.

What other fish / invertebrates are in with it?

If you can’t treat in place because of invertebrates, do you have a treatment tank available?

Then to best treatment options are coppersafe or hyposalinity.

I have baby yellow tang, two clowns, baby blue tang, watchman goby, royal gramma, and a carpenters wrasse.

As well as some blue leg hermits and nessarius (spelling?) snails.

As far as corals, just a good amount of zoas and one chalice.

No treatment tank available and currently trying to figure out how to do it with my limited space. I don’t think a 20 gallon for over 70 days is going to suffice for them and will probably need bigger. Going to be quite a nightmare. I trusted the store as I’ve never heard anyone getting issues and they quarantine all fish for around a month.

If no other fish have spots yet, you could try ich management, it isn’t the best option, but it works for some people. What I general tell people is to use ich management techniques, but continue to set up their hospital tank, in case it doesn’t work:

As above I see ich on the fins - with the new pictures. I agree with @vetteguy53081 that these 'tank raised' fish when sold by an LFSmay often get ich - or something else - as they have no natural specific immunity to various pathogens. I'm not a fan of ich management - when a fish has an active infection - but in the end it's your choice - hope your fish do well. BTW - the reason I don't favor it is because it means there is much more caution needed when you add new fish to your tank. If you're not planning on adding more fish - that lessens that issue.

I am not adding anymore fish to this tank. This is it until my next upgrade when I move into the house I’m building.

Man, I want to take them all out and QT and let the tank be fishless for the time needed. But I’m worried about having even more stress with all the moves.

How big of a QT tank do you think I’ll need for all these fish? All are relatively smaller but I don’t want them to be so cramped and stressed.

Little guy is definitely eating. And very heavily infected. Having a hard time finding a QT tank big enough for everyone. May have to ride it out and hope for the best :( video of my fish eating minus the watchman goby who hasn’t come out since yesterday. Also a video close up of the yellow tang in as much white light as I could get and as close up as possible.

I hope it’s a good sign everyone has an appetite. In order to really see the ich and fish you have to change the quality of the video to best output.

The fish seem to be eating well, but the video is too blue to really see if they have ich or not.

One side note: I normally don't like to see people rinse their frozen foods before feeding, but in the video, I can see as lot of white "waste" coming off of the food. For the time being, you might want to rinse it off a bit better, just to avoid loading the tank up with nutrients that are too small for the fish to eat.

It is soaked in selcon for a few minutes and always comes out a little cloudy when I do it. I should even rinse the selcon off?

I’ll trying to get another video with more white but I have to use a bright flashlight and I really am hating stressing these guys out.

As good as I’m going to be able to get.

Sorry for the flushing in the background, kids always have perfect timing.
