Blue tang is flashing and rubbing himself on rocks. Seems to be a lot more prominent on one side of him than the other. I have a quarantine tank and can treat with copper safe if needs be. What does it look like? I know tangs can be ich magnets but I don’t want to misdiagnose anything.

Tang has a skin irritation which has led to the bumps you see which are mucus cones and may be mixed in with ich. The puzzling thing often with mucus cones is that other occupant usually show no signs But, dont rule them out and keep an eye on them.
Hepatus should be treated in a separate treatment tank using Coppersafe at treatment level 2.25 for 30 days and monitored by a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.

That’s ich! Get him into full dose copper before you lose him!

All other fish need to be treated as well and your tank will have to go through a fallow period to be rid of ich.

Blue tangs are profoundly susceptible to ich. The next round he will have many more spots until his gills can’t exchange oxygen anymore.

Look at the size AND location of the dots. Too large to be ich and fallow not detriment. These are mucus cones likely mixed with ich as indicated.

Can’t ich be the cause of the mucous cones?
Starts with skin irritation hence the itching and Ich settlement is more random than that seen but cones at times have trophant cells mixed in and why coppersafe recomended at 2.25, not above.
