From my experience use of GAC can lead to elevated levels of Ba, here is some more information:
1720707349918.jpeg

If you are using GAC best way to reduce Ba is to let it sit in RODI water for day before use. This helped me a lot, my Ba used to be in the 250 range now it is in the 5 and the ICP companies insist I should add some. I also did water changes.

With Si I suspect your may need to replace the DI on your RODI system. I don’t think Si does anything detrimental at your level.

Good luck,

Yes increase the Ca to at least 420, Mg I be tempted to leave it where it is.

From my experience I would increase Iodine to at least 60. This is just personal observation on my tank, when Iodine is at 60 most corals look happier. You can experiment and see if there is improvement. There is no science behind this just my observation and using my Mk1 eyeball.

Pretty sure it is the active ingredient in diatoms

Marginally sure for crysophates

And sponges, pretty sure
Just to clarify.
I agree with diatoms and sponges using it. Not sure about crysophates.

But I do not believe the level shown is detrimental. The tank will not implode and corals will not perish.
Diatoms may grow and sponges I consider beneficial.
I am basing this on my experience and having seen higher levels.

I would not be doing anything drastic to reduce the level of Si besides keeping an eye on it.
That is just my suggestion.

Barium is probably a none issue. It’s not toxic as far as I can tell. The silicon is close to the so-called acceptable range. Since the vendor does not provide any information about accuracy of the result they provided, the 299 ppb result could be within 0-200 ppb. And 0-200 ppb is based on what?

Why did I spend so much time reading post 1 only to find out post 3 exists

Ugh

Well I’ll throw in something additional. I would try and get manganese detectable if you intend to keep gonipora or macro algae / refugium

If you don’t keep Goni or cheato, run a scrubber, etc then you probably are ok

I have both Goni and caluerpa so I’ve done a 25% wc to replenish some trace
3 more will be done next week

Cheers
