If it makes you feel any better I found a Bobbit worm crawling across the middle of my living room. It was a good 7 feet from the tank and only two or three inches long. Wish I had pics to prove.

I am speechless. That is actually so horrifying!

Okay, maybe that's dramatic, but I now have a severe case of the heebie-jeebies.

I have Hidden Cup Coral hitchhiker in my 40-oz pico tank. I was trying to get some pictures of it, so I turned the flow off and fed the coral. I regret that decision because almost as soon as I did, these creatures emerged out of the dark for the first time. There isn't just one...There aren't just two...There are THREE of these in my 40-oz pico tank (the display is only 20-oz). One of them even seemed to try to bite my Hidden Cup Coral??

My guess is some little Euclid or Dorvilleidae worms. Either way, I don't want to turn my back on my tiny reef for fear that one is going to come out of the water and suck my brains.

Look on in disgust with me!

I have MANY of these in my tank. They seem to be pretty frequent in TBS live rock, and as far as I can tell, they are a sort of eunice worm. I bought some peppermint shrimp, but I think they got eaten by them. Not good. They don't seem to bother my hermits though... yet.

Good luck! I failed for over a year. FYI, if you break them apart they can grow back, including growing back heads.

This is why I haven't even bothered with mine. They anchor in holes, and you only have access to what ever they poke out of the hole, so if you grab one, it's just going to break off and regrow.
