Hello all! I just ran into petco to get some crickets for my bearded dragon and ran across a sale on clowns. Has anyone RECENTLY purchased fish from petco? I don't have a QT set up. I currently have 2 YWG, a tiger pistol, ruby red dragonet and carpenter wrasse. I'd hate to get these clowns because of the sale only to lose everything else.
Would a freshwater dip only be okay?
Weird question, will coral revive dip possibly work on a fish?

No and no. Without QT no matter where you get your fish from you are risking

I don't QT fish, but I also would never buy a fish from Petco without QT'ing it/them. There's no reason to believe they are healthy, and at least where I am the petco closest to me, their tanks are always in horrible condition.
This petco probably has the cleanest tanks I've ever seen in any retail space that sells freshwater or saltwater fish. Cleaner than my local reef store.

No, freshwater dips wont do anything. Unless you do a full QT there’s always going to be a risk. Although, the only fish that ive ever had that lasted longer than a year without QT were from petco.

Not all petcos are the same though. If the tanks look nice and the fish look healthy go for it. Also no, DO NOT use a coral dip on fish.

A fresh water dip will not work. You have no QT so you roll the dice, doesn't really matter where you buy fish. There are plenty of threads here showing what happens when you roll the dice and loose.

I do observation QT and medicate if needed. I've been through velvet and know the risks but I also have multiple tanks and can set up a hospital tank in minutes.
QT following the guidelines in the disease forum with no shortcuts is the safest method if you want to prevent disease, or it's the best method I'm aware of.

Any fish you get from ANYWHERE should always be quarantined before going into a display tank.

There are folks with disease free tanks, and then there are folks who don't quarantine.

You WILL get a disease that wipes out your tank sooner or later if you don't quarantine, and you'll be posting an emergency tag asking for help here.

Yeah, their tanks look better than mine! Clean and clear.
