Is my coral dying or am i dum

So i am new to the reefing hobby and i recently got a duncan. I did a blackout for algae and now the duncan seems to have stuff coming off of it and its white i think its dying but im not sure please help me

White pics will help ID whatever you are worried about, but usually if you see the polyps coming out its a good sign.

How long have the lights been on?

Salinity: .025
Dkh: 11-12
Calcium:420
Phosphates: 0
Nitrate: 0
Im still unsure of what to do and my zoas and star polyps are fine

11-12 Dkh is high IMO. My duncans thrive at 8.5-9 Dkh.

That's alot of tissue recession. It doesn't look to good, hope for the best, but I don't know if it'll make it.

You would first have to find out why its at 11-12. Do you dose? What salt mix do you use? Is the test accurate? Some salt mixes produce higher alk. I'm not saying that is why your Duncan isn't happy but may be part of it. Sometimes my fish will nip at the food my Duncan catches and it will retract for a little bit, also could be a pest that is unseen.

To get the best help you should post more about your tank, including at minimum: Tank size, how long it has been running, all parameters you have readings for including test kit used for each reading, and full tank picture.

My tank has been set up for 3-4 months its a 18 gallon redsea i use the api saltwater and reef kits instant ocean i dont dose anything unless its calcium

feed a lot more and maybe get another fish, looks like you have 3 fire fish and 2 clowns? adding a pistol shrimp/goby pair would be cool and could potentially help.- pellets in particular will help raise faster as far as food goes.

Ok cool i actually had a pair of them then the goby jumped out and died unfortunately

I agree, you need to get your nitrate up to 10-15 and phosphate up to.05-.1

While this type of coral is not picky about location, assure moderate light and water flow and also that phosphate is not elevated ad and calcium is not below 400. Feed mysis shrimp 2-3 times a week if it perks up. Tentacles should be waving gently in the currents. My happy spot has always been lower third of tank but not on the sand
