Just got the anemone two days ago.

Took this at about 9pm last night

Woke up this morning and it was on the sand bed looking like this. I didn't have time before work to do any water testing. I just left it in the tank hoping that it's just closed up, but it doesn't look good.

That does not look good. I would get it pulled. Bummer too, it was beautiful.

I'm just baffled at how it got to that point in about 7 hours. My only theory right now is it somehow lost footing and floated up to the power head.

Does anyone think it looks chopped up? All of my other corals and fish seem fine.

Wow, that's quite the digression in such a short time.

Hard to say if it went through a powerhead but, if it had, I would be inclined to think it would be in pieces.

My wife was able to go home on her lunch break early so i had her remove it from the tank. For now i just had her place it in a spare 5 gallon bucket with some tank water until i can get home to inspect further. I am pretty sure it is a goner, but didn't want to give up on it just yet. Will do some water testing when i get home, but just baffled since everything else seems to be doing fine. I did do some tests this week, and actually the day before i put it in the tank and this is what was tested.

Salinity - 1.025 (Hydrometer and Refractometer)
Temp - 77.9 (Inkbird)
Alk - 8.5 (Hanna)
Calc - 420 (Salifert)
Nitrate - 0ppm (API for now, but want to upgrade this kit)
Ammonia - 0ppm (API)
PH 8.0 (API)

I do not have anything currently to test phosphate, but plan on grabbing something today at my LFS if anyone thinks this would be an important parameter to test right now.
