doesnt look green with my lights off. Thoughts? You don’t need to leave the lights off. I’m asking what the algae looks like when your lights are off
i also seem to have some sort of green area on my rocks, i dont know if its my green LED or if its some algaeI may be wrong, but when my rock started to cure the purpleish colored areas would be green at lights out. That was the first stage of the now encrusting corraline. I’ve also read that this is normal, but since every tank is different I couldn’t say for sure. Others have chimed in as well and seems to be the consensus.
Unless you used live rock and seeded with coraline. You probably won't get noticeable coraline on your rocks till maybe 6 or 8 months. Mine came at 10 months but the plastic around 6 months got covered. I used the bottle stuff.
Do you see the green spots on the rock? Is this more corraline?
i used dry, but my tank isnt old lol. its just like 4.3 months oldUnless you used live rock and seeded with coraline. You probably won't get noticeable coraline on your rocks till maybe 6 or 8 months. Mine came at 10 months but the plastic around 6 months got covered. I used the bottle stuff.
well maybe my coralling wants to go on my rocks firstMy tank is 1year and 2 months my glass and powerheads are covered. My rock is just now taking on coraline algea purple
All tanks are unique in some way. Some get biodiversity quicker then others. Tank stability seems to come easier with tank maturity. I know my numbers have got much more predictable now before I test at my one year mark versus my 4 month mark. Personally, I don't think you have coralline growing on your rocks yet at 4 months but I hope everything turns out exactly like you hope for in your tank.well maybe my coralling wants to go on my rocks first
