I’m setting up a coral farm and with all the problems dry rock brings I always told myself next tank will be live rock. I got my hands on this figi live rock and it’s exactly like it used to be 20 years ago when I bought it. Bringing back good memories

There is nothing like those rocks. Nothing! I really miss it. Dry rock, “real” rock, etc. It’s all junk.

Out of curiosity, are you able to share where you got that?
I did lots of shopping and went with this company.

Had a great conversation on the phone with them and very knowledgeable about what they have. I guess they get shipments from figi weekly and the rock gets shipped to orders right away. Not much down time

lol my 60 breeder full of SPS and completely covered in macro algae sure doesn't look like junk to me ;) And it probably costed me about 1/8th the price per lb. Oh, and no environmental damage either :p

These are cultured rocks. Direct rock harvesting is not allowed anymore in Fiji. That may have been harmful to the environment but this is quite different.

150 pounds on GLR's site right now is $999. So $6.67 a pound... for the Premium Deco live rock, which is what I bought, and am very happy with it.

Dang that’s a great price! I just need to seed a bunch of Marco rock in a giant stock tank. Going for the Berlin method.

Felt like that primo gulf rock was going to have more die off not getting any light in that stock tank, but that gulf rock would be much better in a main display than figi rock.

I do, my family runs a business out of the building and one of the spaces has been vacant for a while so I took it over. Main goal is farm for frag swaps and online in the future. Mainly high end sticks :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

It will be interesting to see if it performs as well as the figi and Tonga we used to get back in the day. I did 300 lbs from KP and while it was beautiful and did the trick it just seems to me for whatever reason that short soak FL rock slowly withers in captivity. I've had my eye on this for my second build as any live is better than dry but I'm actually starting to think that shipped wet in paper is better than shipped in water.
