Big group buy at Salty Bottom Reefing Co. arrived today! We hit $300 among five of us, so we got free shipping and only split the $9.99 boxing fee. Not bad.

However, one of the buyers is out of town till Friday, so I have to keep his CUC alive till then. Bucket. Mesh screen. Duct tape. Heater. Weak sauce powerhead. Boom.

Keeping those hermits well away from the snails and conches. They're already trying to climb up the mesh.

For me, I ordered two pepps. One of them looked like it had a tumor.

Fearing a parasitic isopod, I decided to attempt surgery. It did not go well. I couldn't clearly make out any parasite, but I probably messed up its innards pretty badly. It died post-op :-(

Leaving me with one pepp.

Better stay clear of my acans, pepp, or you'll wish I had put you on the operating table!

Also got a pitho crab, trochus, bumble bees and, drum roll, a yellow sea cucumber! But those will be for another post. Gotta keep you folks on the edge of your seats!

Neptune is starting to come in. Plate is showing nicer colors. Scraped off all the bubble algae sticking to its skeleton yesterday.

More shrooms

Put the GHA covered macro on the sand bed next to the conch. Next day no GHA.

For reference, here it was before.

Pencil wrasse is improving. Out more and eating. No longer diving into the sand or trying to jump the second someone walks into the office.

Careful you’ll end up with a Frank problem
Nah, my black widow likes to grow to dinner plate size before splitting. Takes forever. The RBTA does about three splits for every one BW.

Weekly goals (this should be sounding familiar):
1. Order T slots for light mount and tank bracing
2. Pick up acrylic sheet
3. Cut and glue refugium black-out
4. Silicone the extra refugium weir wall
5. Kill aiptasia
6. Start making more saltwater
7. Actually do these things

As shown in my daily thread. I did a thing:
1730936459630.jpeg

Nano is at zero nitrates (and dinos), 40 is at max nitrates (100+ ppm) with a couple of algae issues, but nothing horrible. Weird thing is that the 40 has historically been borderline 0ppm for most of the tank's life.
