Took out a rock from the diplay to see if a Filefish would take care of a larger Aiptasia. After a week, he picked off all the small ones & left the larger one. Mixed up some Brightwell Kalk+2 with some tank water into a thick paste. Drop it on the Aiptasia mouth with a pipette & took about 15-20 minutes to get it to melt enough to detach. I ended up sucking off the paste & reapplying the paste completely over the Aiptasia. Do I need to cover the entire Aiptasia initially or will they eventually melt just feeding them the paste? Here is a video of my initial application. Again, do I need to cover the entire Aiptasia? I ended up taking a brush to remove it out of the tank. Kind of afraid to do it in the main display.

So I've used aiptasia X, which is essentially kalk paste but thinner.
I'm going for pickling lime next time but going thicker.
You can paste it on and just leave it there.
I've never had much luck having them eat it but I've had some luck pasting it on.
I'm using vinegar right now.
All of it is just hit and miss, mostly miss.
I had a friend once who took rocks out, completely smothered them in paste, put them in a bucket of tank water and let it sit until the paste faded away.
It worked but was a lot of work.
By the time he was done with one side, they were covered again.
Just be careful doing it in tank don't want too much kalk going through there.
Sort of best is tank transfer aiptasia killing.
Should be a new thing.
Just like the support group....

i use F* Aiptasia, same principle as Kalk paste, I am not trying to get them to eat it though. I am completely covering the aiptasia. Leaving the pumps off, so no flow to blow it off. Let it sit, it will harden encasing the aiptasia, i do not try to/or worry to remove it after.

I let mine get way out of control. Every inch of rockwork was covered, every couple of days, the glass was getting covered in babies without me doing anything. Killed all my corals. I found a very small & cheap 4-eye Butterfly. It works a lot better than the Filefish. I will mention I put in 5 small Berghia too. Here is a little over a week so far. Pretty much wiped out every single baby & it is going after the next bigger sizes now. The only problem is any coral with polyps, it will pick at the polyps, not the flesh of the corals. Looks like my coral selections will be very limited until I re-home the butterfly. The Butterfly's handy work:

I'm going the butterfly route I think :thinking-face: don't know if I really have enough room for one but nothing I'm doing is working.
Pictures of the butterfly?

I'll try another rock & completely cover it then. They seem to twitch for a bit then stop. I wonder if i can simply grab them with tweezer after sucking the paste off. I have a box of 1000 pipettes to work with.

It is about 1.5" I seen a YouTuber have one for 4 years & it seemed relatively small, not much bigger than a Pygmy Angel.
