Getting back into the hobby after being out about 25 years! Don’t ask why. A lot has changed since then. Thinking of setting up a IM 15 g cube (15x15x15) with soft and lps. Was looking at the kessil a80 and the a160. Didn’t know which one would be better. I was thinking the 160 would have to much light spillage over the side of the tank. Also anyone have any experience with the reef casa halo light. It seems similar to the kessil. I like the the technology of the kessil. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome back!!! I love Kessil.

Depends what you want to keep in the tank. If you are sure you just want low light demand corals, the A80 will work great. The fuge section of my sump is probably about 15 gallons in a cube shape, and my H80 covers it just fine.

If you want SPS or more demanding LPS, go with the 160. You can adjust the mounting height, or add barn doors to control spillage. Here's some footage of the barn doors I used on the fixture over my fuge to prevent spillage, and this is the product I used: https://amzn.to/42rmLDV

Thank you. I’m not going to get into sps anytime soon. There just seems to be a lot of different opinions. I guess you don’t know till you try.
