No update today. I took my kid to the air show to see the Thunderbirds. Long day and I’m very sunburned (despite using sunscreen?) but it was cool.

This is so cool!!
Great job thinking outside of the box. Pretty cool that your family is supportive enough to recommend another 8 feet of work space. Most would simply shake their heads in confusion. Looking forward to seeing the finished build.
Hmmm, let me go ask Bruce Wayne, be back in a bit.Day 7. Only had an hour today. Ran to Home Depot to buy more material. Then I cleaned up a bit and started working on the walls.
I decided I will frame walls flush under the joists running the full width, and then fill in the pockets later.
Here’s the first wall section nailed together. I decided to use 2x4 but 2x3 would have been plenty. The 2x3 at the store was so warped I didn’t bother. It’s only $0.29 less a board anyway.
Next just stand it up, level it a bit and nail in place…
And now I can park a truck on the porch! More walls tomorrow.
Still thinking about wall coverings. If I had left it smaller I may have went with FRP panels but that would be too expensive now.
How does one typically cover the walls of their secret lair?
Maybe that Trusscore stuff? Lightweight and water resistant. I've never used it personally. How does one typically cover the walls of their secret lair?

unless I missed it, I didn't see a water barrier underlayment, and even with treated lumber, I would opt out of the traditional drywall approach. How does one typically cover the walls of their secret lair?
How are you gonna cool and heat the water up? Seems like that may be the biggest challenge.

Have you looked at pvc wall covering?
@kenchilada , I missed this post. Exactly this product. It's moot for you because you're doing it all yourself. But the way they market the product suggests that labor cost for installation is negligible compared to drywall labor costs. So the price evens out.Maybe that Trusscore stuff? I think that's the most convenient place for them.Quick model update!
What do you guys think of where I have the tanks?
I think I'm going with beadboard ply for the wall paneling. At $32 for 8x4 sheet, I think it's the way to go.
