Live rock from LFS

I am starting my 380 gallon tank. I have purchased several hundred pounds of real Pukani rock from a few local fish stores that was cleaned and then submerged in salt water. The rocks look fairly aged with some having coralline algae on them. I’m sure the rocks are all different in terms of how long they have been curing in the stores.

My question is this: Would it be worth the cost to purchase 3-5 pieces of live rock out of Florida to help seed the rock even more? If so, should I purchase the premium rock or their base rock? Thanks for your input.

If you’re only grabbing 3-5 pieces. I’d go premium! You’ll love it! It will take center stage.

You are a long way from the Gulf of Mexico... But you don't need much to boost your biome. Maybe look at a treasure chest from TBS? The point is the diversity, you already have volume. That is my humble opinion.

Real reef doesn’t make sense because it wasn’t part of any Marie ecosystem left there for years and then removed and sold and put an aquarium. life rock doesn’t make sense because it’s not alive it’s just colored dry rock that’s expensive.
