I need a fish that likes to clean up the scraps. I would just like to reduce the food waste and leftover food hitting the sand or filtration. Doesn’t need to be big just an active fish with a high metabolism. I am thinking a wrasse or something like that. Let me know what hungry fish you have and post a pic. Will be going in an 8’ tank so it will have room to swim. Thanks

what’s your clean up crew looking like ?
I would get a goby to clean the sand bed but they can be messy and wrasses are good for pest control

No.
What you need is a clean up crew, more flows and better filtration system. Would you escalate details on your tank, filters, live stocks and husbandry?
I am literally just looking for a fish that likes to eat my clean up crew is adequate and my filtration is beyond that.

u can turn off power heads while feeding to avoid food going thru the overflow. what r u feeding, dry or frozen? I agree w @Djalexchang , my tomini tang constantly grazes the sand and rocks.

Not sure if its typical for the speices but my Exquisite fairy wrasse is like a bolt of lightning during feeding, snagging food right infront of my other fishes mouths. :) Wont go for the really small pieces of food though.

Honestly i would say tangs and foxfaces do a great job at cleaning. I like the kole tangs or bristle tooth tangs because they’re always grazing. Eating left overs all the way to algae on rocks same with foxfaces.
I have a yellow tang that does a good job scavenging but she isn’t very into the food before it hits the ground

Thanks that’s exactly the response I have been looking for. If this was a graded assignment you would be getting an A lol.
