We have a part-time home in Ketchikan that hopefully will develop into a full time (retirement) residence. Do not have a tank setup there currently, but I am entertaining the idea of moving current system (or starting new system) at that juncture. In doing research, as Ketchikan is an island, all supplies either come in on ferry or by air, so there is quite a bit of additional expense and delays in acquiring materials. I have not seen any local aquarium stores advertised (only Walmart with FW).

We fly on Alaska Airlines out of Seattle and I know they have runs up the coast to Anchorage. Not sure how one might travel with frag swap animals in any quantity. Thoughts?

Sincerely,

David

You can just carry coral or fish right onto the plane. TSA will inspection them but just tell them it's live animals and they won't scan them like luggage.

I've traveled from Seattle and Anchorage with them without a hassle.

Hello Everyone

I've been hanging around here a bit lately. I am curious to see if there are any other reef keepers up here in Alaska? I would like to meet up and possibly swap frags, do group buys, trade gear, etc.

Let me know,
Thanks
Fewneral
Hello,I live in Wasilla and am currently in the process of moving. I have a bunch of mushrooms, Kenya tree, Rose anemones a clown/anemone host and a big chunk of GSP!. And a few others I’m trying to sell for cheap. Also have a Red Sea Reefer 250 for sale if you know anyone interested.

I may be able to take your livestock depending on how much you are asking. Not sure on the tank as shipping might be a problem but I'll look into it. How much for the tank? And how much for all of the livestock?

Thanks,
Fewneral

Also what lights are you running? I'm setting up a 240 gallon and need lighting for it. I'm running hydros but might go with radions for the new tank.

Thanks for the reply. I’m selling the tank all inclusive with corals lights and tank. I’m asking $2500
