I have netted my Blue Headed Wrasse, but he is so completely battered I might have to euthanize him. :( I added a smaller Lunare Wrasse into the 150-gallon about 4 months ago, no real problem between the two— if anything the Blue Headed Wrasse might have been the one to do a little ‘chasing.’ Of course the Lunare grew quite fast, nearing the Blue in size. Well today, the Blue was hiding for his life, having been beaten to a pulp. (I caught the Lunare red-handed trying to finish him off.) Just thought I would share the story.

Thalassoma wrasse do not play nice. Listed as aggressive or semi-aggressive on LA even.

Indeed! I had a large one once before (as the only Wrasse in the tank), but lost him in a 'tragic freak accident', and I really missed him. In hindsight I should have removed/re-homed the Blue Headed Wrasse before attempting both in the same tank. :(

This is my big Yellow Headed Wrasse (only Wrasse in my second 150)— I can’t wait until my Lunare gets that big and into his full adult phase colors.

I love the thalassoma wrasses, such a shame they never play nice with other wrasses though. Wonder who would fare better: Jade or a Thalassoma.

Some of the Thalassoma aren't so bad. I kept a bird wrasse, a paddlefin wrasse, A bluehead wrasse, a red coris wrasse, a spanish hogfish, and an anchorago tuskfish together without issues in a 180 gallon. They got along fine until the miniatus grouper started swallowing wrasses the same length he was (Thalassomas and bird wrasse RIP).
