Likely the gold. They have warm white instead of red/green, but definitely more full spectrum than the other options depending on how blue you want your tank or currently run your lights.which pucks best match the original colourwise?
Visually, a cluster with three whites would resemble AI’s. However, the similarities end there. These clusters emphasize the UV-Blue spectrum, which corals utilize most efficiently. The central LED in each cluster is independently controllable, and in certain models (Blue & Gold), it can be adjusted to simulate moonlight using AI’s lunar mode which varies the intensity according to the current moon phase.which pucks best match the original colourwise?
Oh okay, so the controls of each colour is different. Now the white with be a verison of blue? And the green will be violet etc.?Visually, a cluster with three whites would resemble AI’s. Yes. These aren't actually "replacements" or "spares" in that sense. But to make the controls easier, we provide spectrometer-verified presets to get you started. You can also create your own as you can with normal AIs. The key difference is you have a lot more controls on hand. However, it's hard to get a "wrong" spectrum with these as the entire color ratio of the clusters is balanced to be close to the sweet spot for photosynthesis.Oh okay, so the controls of each colour is different. Do you ship these to Australia @luxdium
Would be interested in the clusters as i have 7 AI Hydra 52HD's that could be updatedYes, we ship internationally too. Presently, we're only shipping our lenses. However, beginning 2/20, we will start shipping our LED Cluster + Lens kits as well. The website should provide shipping options for your location.

I get it - and i really want to do it, the only thing making me hesitant is that is a 5k upgrade to old lights - thats comparable to me changing over to some Radions or other alternatives....They're worth every penny. The pucks and lenses will put a whole new life in those Hydras!

Although it may not necessarily be an LED upgrade, we do have something else in the works for those lights.Do you make them for 16 HD ?
Thanks for the response! Our vision is to build products that last. That's why our lenses aren't made of any plastics, but a custom material that's engineered to withstand saltwater residue, searing temperatures (~260ºC) and UV down to UV-C. 90% of reef lights sold today have plastic lenses or reflectors, which can degrade over time, affecting their performance.
The newest clusters also add more LEDs (up to 19/cluster, turning a 52HD into a 76HD) and a pure copper heatsink that can dissipate up to 390W of heat every second (most lights do 1-3W). There's more, but I'd be repeating stuff that's already on the website.
These features may appear to come at a small premium when you have a lot of lights. However, if you're on the fence, you don't have to upgrade all of them at once. You can always upgrade one and see if this is the right path. Lighting can be subjective and the only way to know for sure is to experience it yourself. What's "best" might not always be what's extensively marketed.
Thanks for the response!
One question that is probably the one that plays on my mind the most with an upgrade - is there anything else on in the light (other than the external transformer), that could fail on these over time?
Obviously the LED puck and Len's are known to fail over time - but other components are ok?
If i upgraded say 2 at a time to make shipping worthwhile, would i need to seperate these lights onto their own program due to the difference in colour controllability?
Makes sense!I always replace fans too if I'm taking the light apart to upgrade. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to replace. I've had Primes that lost wifi, but never any Hydras... yet. I've done 7 Primes and getting ready to do Hydras 5 and 6 whenever my pucks get here.
To answer your second question, yes. The "color sliders" are remapped to new colors, so you'd have to run them on their own "tank" in the app.
What do you use to replace the fans with? I’m thinking about upgrading my prime hds to the new pucks.I always replace fans too if I'm taking the light apart to upgrade.
