My anthias only will eat frozen. ive given some pellet and flake foods, they won't eat it. would like to have an automated feeder for them to make it easier to feed them muilple times a day. how do you get them to eat those processed food?

Soak it in seachem garlic. Frozen is healthier for fish though.

How big are the pellets you’re offering? There are some anthias-specific pellets that are super small that mimic their natural food sources better than the larger sizes.

Good morning Lavey29,

One of my clownfish wouldn't eat and still won't eat frozen mysis thawed, however, I did get him to eat this and even my six line wrasse will eat this. It's Omega One Color Mini Pellets slow sinking.

Good luck!!!!

Took me a few months but eventually they started eating pellet.

Mix pellet in with the mysis juice and pour pellets out at the same time wit the shrimp. They eventually will learn its food. Now my anthia went from extremely picky to eating everything.

It takes a bit of time to get them onto pellets and flakes.

Feed at the same time every day and they will soon eat whatever you drop into the tank at feeding time. Or mix the foods together..... They are absolute pigs, if they are not eating it, its because they don't know its food.

I’m still trying to get mine to eat pellets. They suck them in but then spit them out. Thinking about trying some different pellets.

Can I ask why you want to feed flakes/pellets? Is it just convenient? I feed only frozen, and I think my fish are healthier because of it.

It’s a texture thing with the pellets- the shrimp are much softer and closer to the phytoplankton they consume in the wild, the anthias-specific pellets have a softer texture that is more palatable to them as you’re transitioning them to more standard pellets.
