If a tank was previously infected with Marine Velvet and all the fish died at that time, but two Damsel fish have remained healthy for the past two months because you couldn’t remove them, will adding new fish lead to infection? . Need to move the fish in because no3 now is Zero all of my SPS will lack of nutrition
Note : i have take a small test that using a main tank water have velvet to put on a fish that i will introduce for 3 day , now still not any symptoms

Although the damsels show no signs, I would remove them and have the tank fishless so any parasites present does not have a host fish to thrive on. However, 2 months of no symptoms suggest disease is not present but poses a risk moving forward

Another risk of disease is with the new fish themselves - 2 months of no symptoms makes the damselfish fairly safe, but the new fish can bring disease into the tank if they are not properly quarantined first.

I would not suggest using water from a tank with potential disease as you are then back to square one. I have used fish trap many times in my tank which is 1541 litres and previous tank of 2499 litres

The main tank has been left fallow for 2 months, and I plan to add new fish back into the main tank. Instead of directly adding the fish to the main tank, I plan to use water from the main tank and transfer it to the quarantine tank to check for any potential diseases. This way, if there are any pathogens, I won’t have to start quarantining the main tank again from scratch.

Will this method help me determine if the pathogens in the main tank have been completely eẻadicated ?

So how long after using water from the main tank can I determine if the fish doesn’t have any pathogens?
At least 30 days

Sir i have 20 pcs of pompom crab should i have to quarantine them before put in main tank ? Or just clean by water
Geberally not but wouldnt hurt to place them in an observation tank for at least 3 days to reduce risk.
Reason: If any perish, it wont happen in display tank and cause decay issues plus it will offer opportunity to get them feeding before they are placed in display

Quick update !!
Its been 10 days since I drained the water in the main tank, which has been quarantined from marine velvet for 2 months. The fish are still healthy and showing no signs of illness. Should I reintroduce the fish back to the main tank?” @vetteguy53081 @Jay Hemdal

Go another 7-10 days. If still clear, then go ahead
