And few other frags that went in to the remaining 2 islands as well as some colonies that were reduced to frags by the latest mishap....
Heronensis recovered and starting to grow.

_DSC1638.jpg

Icefire Echinata proving to be a very hard coral to keep have already lost 3-4 frags and a couple of colonies I tried to keep. This frag was doing well but struggled a lot and just started to recover

_DSC1665.jpg

WWC Paletta Tricolor

had it since June 2018 but didn't grow since I added due to issues I was facing in the tank.

Same for WWC Terra Red Accro

SSC recovered but still no growth.

A blue stag I had removed and added a small frag of it to regrow.

So here's how the tank looked around Sep 2018 before I had the issues and before I removed few colonies.

between Jan and April graffted sun and Jack o Lantern grow and touched so I had to trim them I placed a small frag of the jack o lantern on the rock and when that grows Ill remove the jack o lantern to give the monti some space to grow. unfortunately grafted sun lost its green with the last issues I had so I might take it out and replace with another frag in few months if green doesn't appear again. to the right of the Jackolantern is the mind bender chalice I added as well and moved it to a different sport to give space to the jack o lantern to grow.

Chalice and Darth Maule Porites. Chalice showing more bright colors (orange and green) and porties growing rather fast.

Happy New year all!
6 months with no updates on the thread again, luckily one of my new year resolutions is to get this thread more active and to get the tank to where I want it to be in 2020.
very few changes on the tank in past months except for removing few large colonies that didn't color up nice or grew differnt thatn I had planned, they were replaced by smaller frags or different frags and i'll make sure to trim as they grow this time to get the shape I want out of this tank. tank also struggled with couple issues:
Alk drop due to an issue with CO2 leak from Co2 check valve in Nov as well as from a salinity drop few weeks before which led to some STN on few corals and couple lost ones...
anyway here's how the tank looks by 2019 end and hopefully next year it'll fill up some more.

Looks very nice now!!
Thanks,
Lots of room for coral growth, looking at growth rate I typically get I'm assuming it'll take 6-12 months for that tank to start getting the full look I'm after if I have no issues!

Time flies, a full year without any updates to this build thread!
Many changes, mostly positive ones that have happened which I'll make sure to recap on. For now a quick year on year progression shots for the last couple years.

Important part is to have colorful healthy corals and yo aim for your pictures to be close to what you really see.
Halides do help a lot more than Leds with true color rendition. So I make sure halides are on when taking pictures and that leds are on the white side, except for lps pictures where I want to show phosphorescence where I have a bit more blue light on. Good camera and quality lenses and experimenting to get good shots quality is also key.
