Going to let these cure, add jack posts and a support beam!

My back and legs hurt. I’m “young”ish but I will definitely be feeling sore for a few days.

Slimer looks like its starting to encrust! This is my first acro, pretty exciting that I haven't killed it yet.

When I got it! You can see super glue at the base of the frag.

Now! Less glue, more polyps! :)

Sweet upgrade, and thanks! Looking forward to seeing your build thread.

Yep, pretty simple setup. Running the stock mighty jet return pump with 2 VCA random flow generators (not sure how effective they are in my setup), and a single Nero 3 for flow. I had two Nero 3s, but one died and I'm not sure what I want to replace it with yet.

For lighting I have 3 Prime 16 HDs running Saxby schedule at around 65%.

For filtration, I have an Aqua Maxx NS1 skimmer that I let run, but overflow in the tank. So basically just aeration.
Also running a 24w UV Sterilizer.

And for dosing, a Kamoer F1 dosing 5ml All For Reef daily.

You should check out @JoJosReef 's build thread as well. They have an awesome IM 40L. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Right on Mason, thanks for the breakdown. I’ll check those build threads

Let’s go!!!!!!!!!!! Floor support done!!!!

Created a beam by laminating two, 2x10s with structural screws.

Out of curiosity. What did this cost you to DIY? Did you glue the 2x10's together also? If not, I would probably double the screws (unless you alternated and there are screws in between on the other side I can't see). I would also maybe lag the posts to the beam just for added security, but I tend to way over engineer things....:p

It was $300~ in materials! But I bought a few tools that I didn't have. Easy to justify when the original quote was so high. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: Bought into the Ryobi One+ ecosystem lol.

Good eye on the screws! The other side has double the screws. They're 2 1/2 inch Timberloks.

I was thinking about attaching the beam the jack posts some how... but I feel I might end up splitting the wood since the angle is funky. In fact, looking at the pictures i noticed that the post level is at an angle, its attached to where the pieces of the jack slot into each other... Going back under tomorrow to correct that, and will likely toss a few screws in.

If you are worried about splitting, just pre-drill. That should help quite a bit.

Tank is doing well!

Picked up 20lbs of Maricultured rock, and 120lbs~ of dry rock to get the process started for the new tank. Going to let it hang out in a 44g brute (flow + heater) for a few months, and hopefully reduce the cycle time of my new tank.

Also picked up 3x G5 XR30s for the new build! RIP monies lol.

My rock seeding station! Got 20lbs of live in there, been gluing up the dry Marco with marco dust + thin CA glue. I will start adding dry rock in soon!

I might just ditch the idea of a new glass tank and use this trash can.

Scooped an open box "ITC Parwise" meter during Black Friday.

3D Printed a holder for it by modifying the ITC provided STL, to fit a 4mm thread on the handle of my glass scraper! Undersized the hole by 0.1mm, and threaded it in, perfect fit!

Too much 3d printing! Not enough reef tank testing.

My phosphate has risen to .48! :astonished-face:

And my alkalinity consumption has slowed, probably due to the raised phosphate inhibiting/slowing calcification.

Going to do a water change tonight, and I ordered some Lanthanum chloride to bring my phosphate back down to below .2ppm.

I'm not in a rush, all the corals look happy and healthy, but it does seem that my green slimer isn't encrusting as quickly. I could previously observe a small daily change.

I had forgotten about the correlation of phosphate levels to Alk consumption. I need to test my phosphates tonight to see where they are at! Might explain why my alk consumption has dropped way off too!

Which product do you use? Been reading up on Phosban-L by TLF and Phosphate RX by Blue Life...

I went with "Phosphat-E" by Brightwell. As far as I know, most liquid phosphate removers (including the ones you listed) are "Lanthanum" based, so brand shouldn't make a difference. I just wanted the bottle to match my other additives, which are mostly Brightwell lol.

Planning to use some filter floss in my overflows to catch the precipitation and remove it.

Going somewhere fun? For business or leisure?
Visiting my SO's family in Florida. It will be a nice break from here, but there were a few things I had to hoped to dial in on the tank before leaving,

Phosphate and Alkalinity are both still elevated, but slowly coming down.
