So I have had a beautiful healthy active melanarus wrasse in my tank for 2 months. Every day he comes out at around 7am and goes back into the sand around 1:30pm.

When he is out he acts normal, eats like a pig, super active. He only makes his appearance for 6-7 hrs a day though. Anyone else experience this?

I have been keeping a similar schedule since I started working at home. I sleep all the time now.

Seems par for the course, mine disappears about 3 hours before the lights go out.

mine stays out a little longer but its definitely the first to crash.
perhaps something to consider... assuming you're not home all day (maybe you are??) you'd spend more time being able to enjoy your tank if you shift your photoperiod back to have the lights spark up at say 11am or even noon.
