Hello was wondering if anyone can give me a hand.

I am looking at making the DIY nopox and was wondering if I could use methylated-spirits instead of vodka.
This is the stuff they sell at my local hardware store in Australia it also has the safety data sheet attached to it on the website.

the only reason I am interested in using it is because 700mls of 37.5% alcohol vodka in Australia cost $52 vs the $5.65 of the methylated spirits.

if I can use this stuff do I just exchange the vodka component for 50% RODI and 50% Methylated spirits

This is the DIY Nopox ratio's I was going to use as well - 500 mls vinegar (5%), 375 mls vodka (80 proof), and 125 mls RO/DI

I recommend to not use that material since it contains organics that we do not know the effects of in a reef tank. It is probably OK, but I don't want to be responsible for someone's tank problem.

Cheers for getting back to me.

I am pretty new to this platform so couldn’t figure out how to get back to my post lol.

I decided that I am not going to use it as like you said it could do anything to the tank.
