Yesterday, I got a 20gal at a yard sale, Last week, I went to go pickup corals at POTO, my mom couldn't stop staring at their giant bta. She kept asking me to get one, I cant get one in my mixed reef 10 gal. So, I got a 20gal yesterday, and its gonna be my moms Nem tank. Its gonna have 1 bta nem, a goby-shrimp pair, 1-2 clowns, clown goby, hawkfish maybe, and maybe another fish.
I have not filled it yet, cleaned it yesterday, waiting for the water to evaporate(yes, idk, but it my basement, water evaporates more than my room, which has multiple windows...)
im gonna fill with sand today, gonna order rocks in the next month(gotta mow lawns lol)
so yeah! new tank thread time :D

alrighty!! so it got wet last friday, I added a clarkii clown today.
BACKSTORY before people get mad at me
my lfs guy is ***** honest, he isn't about money, he's about keeping fish correctly, he told me that any fish, preferably clowns should be added to start the nitrogen cycle, he told me that when the fish gets big enough, I can just swap it, or if it kills anything, I can swap that fish out for something, I told him my own story about my clown, he said that is really just all clowns, they can all be jerks, so I opted for one SMALL clarkii(looks cool)
after reading about other stuff online, would I be able to add more fish in the coming months? I thinking goby-shrimp pair in the next week-two weeks, or would my clarkii go RAMPIIIIDDD?
thoughts?

Putting in fish to cycle a tank isn't really a thing anymore. There are many other options that get rid of the risk of abusing and or killing a fish. However it's too late for that. Yes, later you can add more fish. I have one clown in my nano and he leaves all other fish alone. Keep in mind though, all fish are different.

Sorry... I missed that. That makes it much more difficult then. You might be able to but chances are low. After a few weeks see how aggressive it is. If you can stick your hand in without getting attacked you may be okay to try a fish with similar aggression levels. If you want to take this risk, make sure you have an acclimation box just in case it won't work out.

ok, ill probably just switch it out for a normal clown later on, in a couple of weeks most likely, it looks cool, but I dont want to kill everything :(
