I finally set up my InkBird. Doing so made me realize my thermometer was wrong, and my tank had been at 87 for at least a week. My heater failed and never turned off. I was wondering why my hammer coral was dying, and why my tank evaporated so much water in a day. It all makes perfect sense now. The tank is now at 80 degrees, so hopefully my hammer coral starts to recover. It was just a stupid mistake I made. But luckily my leptoseris looks fine; which is my most difficult coral. All my fish are fine too. I leave for vacation tomorrow, so I am going to do a waterchange today. Fingers crossed everything goes well.
Gee wiz great catch! Have a great trip!

Just added 3 cerith snails to my tank. Algae growth has definitely increased, so I am hoping they will help keep it down. It's not anything bad, just a few patches here and there.

How are your firefish and clown doing? I've been recently debating if I'd want to try that out for my tank!
They're doing great with each other! I have never seen any aggression with the two. In fact, they're best buddies! They're always swimming with each other. But all fish are different, so you may not get the same results. Good luck!!

Hi @WalkerLovesTheOcean ! How's everything coming along here?? ALSO, YOU GOT A 120 GALLON TANK WHILE I WAS GONE FOR A MONTH?? :face-with-open-mouth::beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
Hey Ollie, my tank is doing great! And yes, I do think someone went to pick up a used 120. I don't know it's condition, but I'm going to be DIYing almost everything. Once I get home and assess the condition I will make the decision!

So I came back from vacation Saturday. Everything is good except my leptoseris who I don't think will make it. Don't know why, but I see lots of skeleton. My tank survived over 2 weeks of me being gone (one week with someone feeding and cleaning the tank, the other completely by itself), so pretty happy with that.

Also, my mangrove put out 2 leaves while I was gone.

My hammer is finally back to its former glory and I am sooo happy. I've been gone for 3 put of the 4 weeks of its recovery, so I thought for sure it wouldn't make it but I was proven wrong. All I did was put it on the sand bed 4 weeks back, and it has become just as fluorescent as it was when it was happy.

Here is a link to my new 120 diy build just in case anyone wants it.

Walker, Leptos are resilient. They can be almost dead and still come back.

Try moving it to a more shaded area or lower in the tank.

Low/medium flow helps keep them clean without blasting them.

Alright, thank you. Will try that.
