Well my skimmer is not working. It’s a Reef Octopus Elite 200int. I put in a support ticket to Coralvue. When I push the on button on the controller the blue lights come on as usual but with in 4 seconds it stops and red lights start flashing at the 15 and 60 minute buttons. Don’t know if it’s the controller or the pump. I’ve cleaned the pump but still same issue. :confounded-face:

Well more upsetting news. I ordered and prepaid for a fish order in September from TSM Aquatics. I have been trying to get ahold of them to inquire about my order I have not yet received. Email and voicemail are both disabled. Found out a little while ago that RobRom had bought them out. I was wondering why I kept getting emails from them. Thought they were junk and deleted them without opening. I have contacted RobRom and waiting for a response and trying to see if they will honor my prepaid order or if I’m just out of my $380.

I just received a call from Josh at TSM. He explained the situation to me. They are not bought out but becoming partners with RobRom Corals. They didn’t expect it to take this long or have this many difficulties in the process of forming a new website and was hoping for an easier transition. That fact that he called me and explained things to me has restored my faith in this company. They still have my fish in QT and even though they will be ready Jan 27th, they will hold them for me since I’m leaving on vacation , until I am back.

Playing skimmer swap this afternoon. I have no idea when a controller for RO skimmer will be available so I am swapping skimmers from another tank. And in these different times in ours lives, it may take months to get a replacement. So out with the Reef Octopus and in with a just cleaned LifeReef skimmer. The tank it’s coming from needs it less than the 180.

Sounds like we're both having skimmer troubles! I gave up on replacing my pump. I just couldn't get it to work right.

I'm sorry you had to deal with the stress of the fish order. I'm relieved that TSM came through! Good to know about the partnership.

Got the other skimmer in. My daughter and her 2 cats went back today. Quiet here now without them plus my husband is gone on business trip.
Had a fun time at INDMAS fish club tonight. Back home now and having a drink and snuggling with our cat. He’s more of a daddy’s cat but will snuggle with me when my husband is gone.

I can't wait for the build!!
Me too! A club member is coming this afternoon to help me figure out all the plumbing parts I need to buy. Then it sits and waits for a month till I’m back from vacation. I’d rather stay home and work on tank than go to India. Shhh… don’t tell my husband I said that. :grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Ok time for some advice from you more knowledgeable people for the new 270 gallon.

1. UV Sterilizer : I have two of them. A 120 watt Aqua UV. It has 3 - 40 watt bulbs. It’s big and takes up a lot of space. Also have an Ice Cap UV with 1- 90 watt bulb. My question is which one is really better? Wouldn’t a single 90 watt bulb be more powerful than 3 40watts? Yes 3 X 40 is 120watts but I mean the water is still just going thru 40watts but 3 times so is it really 120 watts strength bulb vs one 90 watt bulb?
