I had this piece for about 4 years. It's colors seems to get better with age. It speed of growth is second only to my ora red. It seems goniopra got a bad wrap years ago of being hard to keep. Or maybe over time we grew more hardy frags.

Wow!!! That thing is insane. I love the Goni collection... Very cool. I had a bicolor Goni about 6 months ago, didn't make it through a tank move though :(

Nice Goni, truly. Were you able to ID it properly to the species level? Collection area? Lighting? Pictures nice....info is better! Also any supplements or other additives that possibly helped keep it going? I'd like to see the rest of your goni collection if possible.

Thank you for sharing!

The only thing i really know about it is a short tentacle. Although it can get very long polyps when the current blows the neighboring goniporas too close. I do add ameno acids as well as trace elements. Got it from a LFS as a tiny thing of about 6 polyps.

The picture is with my iphone. T5's with blue LED accent strip. I have a good Digi slr camera waiting for my macro lens to come in.

I just got a Rainbow Goni frag from Liveaquaria. It's just a frag and if it's big as yours in 4 years I'd be happy.

Do you have a pic of your Ora red goni? How fast has it grown for you? Do you spot feed it? Thanks.

The ora red looks better under my MH and the rainbow looks better under T5 with blue LED. The blue washes out the red ora.

I do not spot feed any of my corals. Just a tank feed a few times a week. All pumps off for 30 min except one small 600gph. Just enough to create a light current. The red almost died twice. The last time half dead bare skeleton and bleached to a see through pink. Totally regrew over the dead area.

That's the best goni I've ever seen. Insane mix of colors. That's worth at least several hundred. Very impressive.
