Alright, my last update was 7 months ago! I since then added many corals or fish to these two tanks. Pictures to follow!


My 45 Gallon Shallow Mixed Reef:
Existing coral:
-Kenya tree
-Magician zoas
-Red montipora
-Acan Lord
-Mango Favia
-Green psammocora
-Purple Candelabra
-Purple Knobby gorgonian
-Purple gorgonian (Unknown ID)
-Ribbon gorgonian
-Grooved sea whip gorgonian
-Corky Sea Finger gorgonian
-Pink birdnest
-Purple Stylo
-Red Montipora Digitata


Corals added:
-Purple gorgonian colony
-Pink pacillopora
-Red Montipora cap
-Red setosa
-Branching Cysphastrea
-Bubble Gum Digitata
-Fiji accropora cerealis
-Tan Pavona
-Purple Pavona
-Zoa Frag


The current issues for this tank?
-Low par, due to lack of knowledge. I'm still raising the intensity from 20% to 50-60%. I do 5% every week or 2. I think I left the lights at 20% when I was testing stuff out and I never realized the low par issues.

-Phosphate always 0 (I feed 3x a day, 2x pellets and once frozen heavily).

-Dinos, I think my nutrients bottomed out after my vacation.

-Alk always around 10.5 but I would like 8.5 (Currently doing nothing, corals should be consuming it).



Current dosing schedule for this tank:
-AF Elixir 5ml/Daily
-AF Polyp-up 4 Drops/Daily (Zinc, Iron,Iodine,Manganese,Omegas,Vitamins)
-Alk,Cal,Mg (10% Water change when needed)

-Green Hammer (1 head, now 3)
-Blue hammer (2 head)
-Palythoa (DEAD, pistol shrimp stole the frag)
-Pink ricordea
-Purple Acan (5 head give or take, I have the exact count written somewhere)
-Red Acan ultra (5 head give or take, I have the exact count written somewhere)
-Codium Macro Algae
-Gold hammer (2 head)
-Green tip hammer (2 head)
-Purple & Green hammer(2 head, 2 growing polyps)
-Duncan (3 head)
-Green Candy cane (1 head)


Existing coral:
-Rose bud hammer (1 head, now 3)
-Some mushrooms
-Pink alveopora

Fish added:
-Six line wrasse
-Springeri Damselfish
*No behaviour issue for the past couple of months.

I also added some inverts like snails and a coral banded shrimp.
The current issues for this tank?
-Low par from the Kessil a160. I'm waiting for a new AI prime lens and I will be swapping the Kessil for two AI Prime 16HD !

-Some vermetid snails.

-High nitrate of 50ppm but I see no visible issues and I will be dosing Vinegar every other day to help the macro algae consume the nitrates without bottoming out my phosphate.


Current dosing schedule for this tank:
-ESV Alk 0.8ml/Daily (About 0.035dkh, but raising it to 0.05 slowly)
-Calcium once a month (often 10ml - 5ppm)
-Mg once a month if needed.
-AF Elixir 5ml/Daily
-AF Polyp-up 4 Drops/Daily (Zinc, Iron,Iodine,Manganese,Omegas,Vitamins)

I have learned a lot from these mistakes, but some are still a mystery:
-Bought a unhealthy DIgitata
-Pandora Zoas (Unknown)

-Candy Zoas (Recieved with POX)

-Hammer (Too much flow)

-Alveopora (Bought a unhealthy coral)

-Goniopora (Bought a unhealthy coral)

-Pink birdnest (Auto feeder fell into the tank)

-Palythoa (Stolen by pistol shrimp, I need to learn to glue)

-Sixline (Euronema)

-Acan (Unknown, tissue was being eaten by something)

-Fire fish (Unknown, I woke up and the little guy was dead the day after adding 20 hermits)

-Montipora (Not enough par)

About 9 deaths, give or take 500$
