Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

Started my fish less cycle this evening using turbo start 900 and dr Tim’s ammonia, no turning back now! Please forgive my temp controller sitting on the lid, I’ll be mounting and cleaning up things tomorrow. The advancements in technology over the last decade as far as aquariums and equipment goes is mind blowing!

Day 2 of my cycle. Ammonia has already dropped from 2.0 to 1.2 in about 28 hours with the turbo start/ammonia method. Using the Red Sea marine test kit.

You live and learn. That being said, I’ve learned the current USA orbit I picked up used isn’t up to “par” ;) when it comes to coral. So while I’m cycling the tank I’ll be on the hunt for a deal on some better quality lights. There’s a few sets of AI prime 16HD close to me for sale I’m keeping an eye on. Anyone who has these can you give me the good and bad on these? I’ll be watching YouTube’s on them in the meantime.

And I promise I’ll mount that controller today, maybe.

Edit: Im not cycling with the light on, only on to take a pic.

Day 4 cycle:

ph - 8.2

Ammonia - 0.2

Nitrite - 1

It’s good seeing improvements day by day !

Picked up a goodie today to start replacing the generic current USA marine blade. Also found a second one I’ll be picking up in the next few days.

AI Prime 16HD

Day 5: Will test water parameters this evening, just wanted to show a pic of what the tank looks like with just the one AI Prime 16HD on it. Will be getting the second light in the next couple days. And finally mounted my IM controller! :winking-face-with-tongue:

Light on only for picture:

Edit -

Ph - 8.2

Ammonia- 0-0.2

Nitrite - 1

Slow and steady wins the race! Lol

Day 6/7:

Added my 2 clownfish today

Officially my first saltwater fish ever!

Will be continuing to monitor parameters often and will post should anything change.

Lights on only for pic. Will be keeping the lighting low/off until the fish “relax” lol.
