As the title says Im new to reefkeeping and can afford to purchase 2 hanna checkers for christmas. My goal currently is to keep an anemone and a montepora in a 15g cube. I have plans to expand to a 40 g breeder setup for the purposes of growing out clownfish fry.

What 2 Hanna checkers woould be the most beneficial for my stated goal?

Nitrate and low range phosphate are the two Hanna checkers most commonly recommended. You most likely will not need to test for Alk, Calcium or Magnesium with only one monti.

Agree to all the above except the calcium
@MrGisonni
No argument, but this opinion is kind of a outlier..
so I'm being genuinely curious if you own and actually like the Calcium, and if so do you find the procedures easy to follow and your particular reading consistent and reliable?

Alk

Phosphate low range

Nitrate high range

All the other checkers (except the high range copper for fish quarantine) are garbage imo.

Phos is the most important. Salifert sucks at phos. Salifert for kh and calcium are solid. Nitrate is best with Hanna but salifert is fine.
Stay away from Hanna calcium like others have said.
