Hello,

I have a new tunze doc 9004dc skimmer in my tank.

I never had a DC skimmer before so idk at what % i should be running it at to start with. Is there somoene who can guide me in the right direction on what to do?

Thanks!

This is the current level.

While I don't have this exact model, I do have the 9001 & 9012. I usually keep the bubble level about halfway up the inner tube of the collection cup. You can adjust it depending on how wet or dry you prefer to run your skimmer.

Thank you, do you have any idea if i should run or dry skimmate if i want to fix high nitrate issues?

Running on the wetter or drier side is completely up to you.
I run mine somewhere in the middle, keeping the bubbles about halfway up the collection cup inner tube. The skimmate is a dark liquid with some heavy sludge at the bottom. I empty my collection cups about once a week or so.
Running wetter pulls out more saltwater, and if you're topping off with fresh RODI, you're slowly diluting your tank.
If you're having issues with high NO3, how much are you feeding? How often are you doing water changes?

Oh the No3 issue allready has multiple posts, i'm not gonna go into detail about it in this post again sorry haha.
I wouldn't care running on the wetter side if this is better for NO3 prevention.
