While I realize air pumps are not a consideration for most modern aquarium hobbyists, they are still needed to raise brine shrimp and grow phyto. I started working with SCHEGO because I use air pumps to feed fresh air to my skimmer and I enjoy growing native plants as a hobby and most perennial, shrub and tree seeds require some time soaking in aerated water to germinate more readily. For the average hobbyist, I think the main use will be that we have an exceptionally high quality line of DC air pumps. The usual DC air pumps are really garbage, they use a rotational motor which moves the diaphragm in an elliptical pattern which results in tears and they are generally using very poor quality rubber anyway and have the performance of a wheezing hamster. The SCHEGO DC pumps have an actual driver board to produce a Hz pattern for a correct linear motor and they are all made in Germany and have replacement parts, they have the performance of a comparable normal AC air pump. What I plan to assemble and offer is the DC pump with a 12V power supply and Tunze Safety Connector as a set as an emergency back up system as no matter how you try to do it, the best prop pump will still need twice the power as an airpump, so in a critical situation, the air pump will have unequalled run time. We also have the largest in and out model air pumps for those who would like to bring fresh air to a skimmer, these have an air inlet and outlet so the pump can be inside in a sheltered location and you just run a hose to the outside to draw in fresh air, it does 350 l/hr so it would suitably sized for a 9410 or an appropriately modified 9001-9012. While it is definitely true that a scrubber will give bigger gains in pH, the air pump has no long term media costs and in many cases is enough to get you where you want.

If you are interested in an air pump let me know, we did bring in all the standard AC models as well, we have all the parts in stock too if you have an old one you need parts for. For now, they just arrived, and if you want a DC back up set I will need time to get the adapters and assemble them, the pump comes with a bare wire and so a socket has to be soldered on, but if you are a fisherman and want one for your boat for bait or want to DIY a set up just let me know. Eventually, I should have a website up for these as sets or just pumps and we have some really nice air valves, tubing, check valves and airstones as well.

Roger - I received the SCHEGO WS3 air pump and hooked it up today. VERY powerful! Impressive. This thing is built like a tank. Thanks again!
