I have inspected it and I don’t see any jelly/flat worms.any brown, jelly-like substance coming from it? any changes to the tank before this occurred?
I am slowly raising it.Bring salinity to 35ppt and give it a couple weeks.
These are my normal Params. I amAny major swings lately?
I personally would boost calcium above 400.
However what is your usual parameters? Or are these what you always keep?
You know my apex has been showing salinity swings but it usually hovers around 1.024-1.025Sorry to see this.. I know it sucks. Check for any pest if you can. Are you dosing or feeding anything strange? What are you measuring your salinity with, is it properly calibrated? I found my deaths were from salinity swings. You should bring that mg up to 1350-1400 and ca to 400-420 though for torches.
Have you smelled it for foul odor?I have inspected it and I don’t see any jelly/flat worms.
It has been eroding slowly. A couple days ago it was slightly better. I don’t have a pic. I have been observing it nonstop I don’t see anything picking at it. I don’t have shrimp and only have hermit crabs. If those parameters are accurate…they are not the source of the issue. Your calcium is low, and salinity low, but they won’t kill a torch.
Your torch has a physical injury, a bacterial infection, or both.
The bottom right head is conpketrr we lay eroded away. The bottom left is not far behind.
How often do you take pics of it? Do you have one from a few days ago? Do you have any fish, crabs or shrimp that could be picking on it ?
Haven’t taken it out of the tank. Thinking about doing an rx dip, don’t knowHave you smelled it for foul odor?
dip in iodine, if able. get the color to be a tea color, but not overly dark that you can't see the coral. let it sit for about 5mins, then add back to tank. keep things stable, and continue monitoring for any worsening conditions. hope it bounces back for you!I have inspected it and I don’t see any jelly/flat worms.
Ok so this was not fine and then all of the sudden looking bad. Signs were out there, its been eroding and declining for a while and suddenly got worseIt has been eroding slowly. A couple days ago it was slightly better. I don’t have a pic. I have been observing it nonstop I don’t see anything picking at it. I don’t have shrimp and only have hermit crabs.
if you have any other torches/hammers, keep an eye on them, too. could transfer over.Looking at it more closely it’s brown jelly disease. Ordered some Lugols. Any other suggestions?
Best bet at this time is KFC treatment which is a hefty shopping list if you don’t have it.Looking at it more closely it’s brown jelly disease. Ordered some Lugols. Any other suggestions?
If already making one adjustment, don't make any more for a couple weeks.I am slowly raising it.
