I just purchased PE Calanus for my mandarin, figured the rest of my fish would like it too. It was VERY STINKY when I opened it. Is this normal or is it funk. Thanks!

If they eat it then it's doing its job. Most of the foods I feed I wouldn't eat if I had to smell or taste them in the process.

:rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: I contacted Piscine and told them it smelled like fishy gym socks and wanted to make sure that was normal. She said they have trouble trying to explain the unique odor it has but that about sums it up:face-with-hand-over-mouth:

same with the can o' cyclops, doesnt smell good at all. wouldnt bother with prepped food for mandarins though. Better to keep adding phyto to feed the copepod population

I feed phyto everyday but I'm hoping to get lucky enough to have mandarin that eats some frozen foods too.
