I've been wondering if I should change my feeding from flakes to pellets. Ive been using flakes for about 8 months but I've noticed my tang is getting skinny, and he doesn't seem interested in algae. Thanks for the help!

Good suggestion.....Thats some great eating there for a Tang.....(even my clowns eat that up)A Tang should be interested algae. Maybe try these:
This is a newer food for me, but my Tail Spot Blenny loves them. I've heard Tangs do too, and I've heard other fish, like your Clowns, also grab them.Good suggestion.....Thats some great eating there for a Tang.....(even my clowns eat that up)
All my fish....even the mono....they go nuts over it.....This is a newer food for me, but my Tail Spot Blenny loves them. I've heard Tangs do too, and I've heard other fish, like your Clowns, also grab them.
How did you get a copy of my personal diet plan?Corn flakes
Dry granola bar pellets.
Get some popsicles (Hikari or whatever)
Or fresh live clams and muscles from the grocery store and give your fish a homemade meal at least once a week to keep them healthy and happy.
Dried foods are like a diet of potato chips and popcorn. I guess it’s ok if you wash it down with a beer or soda but food is not just something to put in the gut, it is supposed to provide nutrition.
Best served fresh
When I have more fish to feed (when I get my new tank setup) I plan on making my own foods, I've dabbled in it in the past. I also know that Dan P feeds live foods because he says it bolsters the fish's immune system, which I get.Or fresh live clams and muscles from the grocery store and give your fish a homemade meal at least once a week to keep them healthy and happy.
I catch my clams at the beach and muscles which I chop up and feed my fish. I would not eat them raw but my fish do and they are happy and healthy so far.How did you get a copy of my personal diet plan?

But, is there no concern with introducing fish parasites via live foods? I QT all my fish and everything "wet". I had thought that when you get things like clams and muscles live from the market that you should freeze them first to avoid parasites (poor clams).
What do you think?
Gosh no! I wasn't suggesting that I QT my live food clams lol!I catch my clams at the beach and muscles which I chop up and feed my fish. I would not eat them raw but my fish do and they are happy and healthy so far.
I guess you could set up a QT for them and if they get Ich treat them with copper?
Yes, it’s possible.Gosh no! I wasn't suggesting that I QT my live food clams lol!
I'm saying, I put a lot of effort into QT'ing all my livestock. Is there not a risk with feeding live foods?
^That's it! I think that's what I've been reading, and what I will do. Thanks brother! If you freeze it and then thaw it I think the likelihood of problems is pretty low.
