Pom Pom crab stealing my rock nem

She is out almost all the time, she is one of my favorite things to watch in the tank. She ended up carrying the anemone outside of the cave, sticking it on the side of the rock and has left it alone since. I guess she just didn't like where it was to begin with.

I actually want one of these now. It made me laugh! My LFS was telling me I'd probably love one. Your story proves it. I understand all crabs can be opportunistic, but anything I should know in particular?

Other than this, she's been a model citizen. Doesn't really bother anything else. Crawls all over the tank looking like a spider in the way she moves. Its really cool to watch.

Love them in other people's tanks!

Have a longnose and flame hawkfish.
Large blood red fire shrimp is fine.
No other inverts except a few hermit crabs.

Have them in separate bags right now.

Will they tag team to defend themselves or are they complete loners?

I planned on setting them loose at opposite sides of the tank.

I have seen no interaction between them at all. Each picks a spot to feed from usually no where near one another.

We tried putting a 2nd one in the tank. They fought, and then there was one

Claire had carried it outside the cave and stuck it on the side of the rock. Then she took it again, and its back inside the cave. She has been guarding it for the last 2 days. I'm not sure if she's trying to host it or what.

Haven't seen either since yesterday.

But there is 200 pounds of holey rock in a 75 gallon tank.
And a small longnose and small flame hawkfish to hide from.
Was kinda expecting it.

Hoping to see them in the coming months at some point.
Only see the money snail every other month.
[emoji6]

I try to ignore the tank in the hour I'm still up after lights out in the hopes that the copperband will stop begging for food and go to sleep.
