So I'm all caught up. I'm both jealous that you have a good LFS and thankful that I don't. My wallet would not appreciate having one close. There's no telling how many times I've talked myself out of buying stuff because of the $50 shipping price tag. I do wish there was a stronger reefing community locally. I don't know anybody anymore who is into it. Just a thought on your chaeto growing: have you looked into a hang-on refugium from somebody like Fiji Cube? It may be a good option if you have room in the cabinet. I used one on an AIO tank I had, and it worked great.

My LFS has for sure gotten the best of my wallet more times than I can I count. I'm lucky that sometimes if I see something I want, they'll put it on hold until payday for me lol. I'll get into my cheato battle next post lol

What's up everyone. Got some updates. And some pics. Tank is doing really good ( knock on wood) lol. My nitrates are a lil high at 28 and Im getting a few patches of algae on a few rocks. That's about the only things that I'm working on. I figure water changes and manual removal will take care of it. At the beginning of the month I removed the cheato from my sump. After adding the reactor with GFO my phosphates lowered and the cheato started to disintegrate. I should have been dosing cheatogrow to keep it alive. It clogged up the skimmer intake, which was a pain, but it was about time for a deep clean anyway.

Some posts back, I mentioned having some corals in the frag rack waiting to be mounted. Well I still haven't decided on the rockwork lol. But in the meantime I did rotate the rock with the anemones. Oh I almost forgot to mention, the mother split again. And once again I got lucky and caught the new anemone before it attached to the rock all the way. I'm glad I didn't throw my homemade critter cup away after the first split lol. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna trade it in for store credit, or put it in the mancave nano for my two clowns.

The replacement corals that are on the frag rack are doing very good, and showing signs of growth. Especially the birds nest. All those little points are new growth.

Quick update on the mancave nano. One of the sailfin gobies died for some reason, and I haven't seen the other in weeks. So for now it's just the two clownfish in there. I'm currently battling cyano on the sand surface. Up until about 4 days ago I was topping off the water daily by hand. Happy to say that the tank now has a real ATO system. I found a Kamoer system on Amazon. I went with it because I trust the brand. I also finally added a skimmer to the tank as well. Its a BubbleMagus Mini Q if I'm not mistaken. This little skimmer is a beast lol, and started pulling skimmate almost immediately after getting it set. So far I have zero complaints about both.

What's up everyone. Happy Sunday to you all. Yesterday I was staring at the tank and finally made a decision. Well half a decision lol. I was starting a water change and decided it's time change a something up. I didn't disturb the left side of the tank, but the right side got a major rescape. And I mounted and moved a few corals around. Here's the results.

Here's a little bit better of a picture of just the right side. Im trying to keep a few spots open for a more advanced acro or two. Just to try out. I have some ideas for some more coral. Stay tuned.

The tank is an Icecap 10 gallon AIO. The light is an old Reefbreeders Nano. I plan on upgrading the light on the nano at some point so that I can have some SPS in there.
Looks like a decent skimmer. I have IM 14 and 20 AIO so I was wondering if the skimmer fits in the back. I will go look at the specs. :)

It definitely does the job for this size tank. Bubble Magus also has a skimmer called the Curve2. It's bigger than the Mini Q but still small. It may work in the IM. It was just a tad too big for my nano.

Actually I looked at BRS and they have it for $69.00, with excellent reviews. It fits all the IM 20 gallon and under, so I lucked out finding it on your thread. Thank you.
