What color is the collection cup? Is it clear, like tank water, or brownish-green? If it is clear, you need to adjust the water level or intake to prevent overflowing. If it is brownish-green, you have a very dirty tank. Hope this helps!

Hey Dave, this video may help you! I'm not familiar with HOB skimmers but I do know that they need some time to "break in."

Get a piece of fat plastic coat hanger and shove it between the tank rim and the pipes. This will raise it up a bit. Take the silencer and stick it in the top of the tee on the return. This will make it siphon and lower the level in the back on the right.

putting hanger and silencer in place bought me a 1/8 of a inch before overflowing all over again, tried raising the collection box up an inch, nothing changed. Back to square one i suppose

Can you take a picture from the left side with it running? I ran one of these for years and just took it down 2 months ago.. I don't remember it ever putting water on thew floor.
You can see the water levels mine runs at.

i,m trying to get a picture on here, i made a 8 second video to show how fast it overflows, but i guess you cant post videos. Right now hard to get a pic, no sooner i bend down to plug it in by the time i grab camera its already overflowing. This is getting increasingly frustrating. Not sure a pic with it running you can get anything from something that lasts less than 8 seconds
