Well, I've had to make that difficult decision to let my tank go. In addition to my own health issues (hands), full time work, I am now having to do long distance care for my 91 year old dad in Washington (I'm in Tracy CA). 2-3 calls a day, sometimes more, and prob. monthly trips up there, and taking over a lot of his finances. To say I'm overwhelmed is understated. For my own health, I have to let my dream tank go. I don't have the time anymore, or even the health to handle a monster tank. I've learned so much since I started in 2016 and this 3rd tank upgrade has been a dream--also a dream tank as it is so dialed in, my neglect isn't really impacting it (except in looks lol's)
I'll be selling everything and I have a lot of equipment, additives, and such. I'm asking 3000.00. Tear down will be up to whoever buys it with me helping. but I cannot lift the rocks out of the tank or bend down to deal with the 2 sumps. Equipment needs to be cleaned. I'll do what I can of that once it is out. Citric acid soaks too. I have some contact info from a fish store of possible people/companies that might assist in moving the tank. It needs glass suctions and 6 people. If I need too, I will piece it out--corals, fish, equipment but I'd rather it go as a unit.
Tank has some aptasia, and has never had ick for any other disease. Most of the fish I've had for years as this was a 3rd tank upgrade. I still have one of my original fish from 2017. Most corals also are 2-5 years if not more. Still have the ricordias from first tank. Even has a breeding pair of Staghorn damsels--eggs at least. I don't do water changes except rarely I'll use the DOS and do 5 gal if needed. Tank doesn't need it. NO 3 tested a couple weeks ago at 0. Just harvested 2 grocery bags of chaeto and tossed. Salinity gets a bit high. Nothing cares. PO4 is prob. a bit high but no algae except a bit in the 2nd sump. The tank runs itself except for dosing and feeding for the most part though I do have to adjust the valve for water in the overflow box/sump
