I’m fairly new to the hobby and currently have a 75 galllon tank and was hoping to get some advice on whether my current equipment would transfer to the tank I recently bought listed in the subject header. Also had a question or two.

The new tank is 130 gallons. The equipment I have for the 75 gallon is listed below and was hoping you guys could tell me if it’ll transfer well to the new tank and if or what I could add or upgrade to if necessary.

2 150W eheim heaters hooked to an inkbird
2 Noo-Psyche k7 pro iii
2 max spect gyre xf330
Reef octopus 110 int

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Lastly, what would be an appropriate amount of sand and live rock?

Just my opinions and some are outliers

- I personally skip heaters on large tanks, the house ambient temps usually suffice and the fluctuations don't really justify the risk... but I dont play with my home thermostat either ... I've yet to hear a valid argument for anyone south of the Ohio River not living in a garage...
78F locked in year round is just unsubstantiated status quo
- Skimmer is a lil undersized, but I personally undersize my skimmers anyway/also ... 50/50 on that one
-I might consider a 3rd wavemaker for bottom flush ... I own 9 gyres, most people place them near the surface but neglect bottom flow and detritus suspension
-I think you are going to need a additional light or two
I have bare bottom but IME Sand will make your life easier and IMO your tank and livestock choices look more "natural" ... if that 625 is a 4ft tank (I think) so not sure how that translates into pounds or bags but I liked 3-4" deep, but lots of room for other valid options here ..

If you go with sand AVOID those magnet types GET A TUNZE algae scraper, less scratches!!!!

I live south of the Ohio River and it’s 23° outside and 66° in my house. I use heaters to keep my tank 78° and I suggest the OP use them too. Two heaters on an Inkbird is an excellent idea. I personally use the IM Helios controller.

No argument if you set your house thermostat to 66F , I should have framed that with assuming your home is "above 70F" , which IME is within tolerances ...
More (likely) fish die from heater malfunctions than home furnace malfunctions
(edit 5x LOL)
