Except they probably used the same crappy silicone on all the seams unfortunately. Crappy silicone or the surface wasn't prepped/ cleaned properly is my guess. I have a gen1 reefer 170 I just broke down because of a seam failure due to silicone separation like the OPLooks like the seam failure is just at the eurobrace
May not be a catastrophic situation
However Red Sea offers a 5 year warranty so this would be included
It’s sad to see these issues - Red Sea makes some really great stuff, and their tanks look amazing.
This appeared to be water underneath the tank, spilled cleaning fluid or water dripped down from the outside of the glass.Any ideas about this one?
Not sure if it just is water in between the glass and the cabinet
I think word is getting around… a few lfs I went to no longer recommend Redsea other than their small desktop offfering or other things like reefmat. Outright said they encountered delaminating silicone. Just one or two but still enough for them to want to avoid the liability + losing customers etc. What the podcast could help if it was willing, would be to alarm those who bought tanks in around 2019 and those with much older systems could be reasonably assured of safety
Bc that's what three years of data shows. How does total silence build trust?
Why not discuss literally the hottest topic in reefing? still no problem here right

Yep, last year the only tanks you could see for sale at my lfs were red sea tanks. That's all changed now.I think word is getting around… a few lfs I went to no longer recommend Redsea other than their small desktop offfering or other things like reefmat. Outright said they encountered delaminating silicone. Just one or two but still enough for them to want to avoid the liability + losing customers etc.
