I reset the dining side 7 weeks ago it with some birds nest. The birds will act as a temporary filler while the slower growing corals plug away. Mounting corals on vertical rocks has been a challenge.

My 18 month old toad stool (one of my oldest frags) has grown very little. I've always had it off to the side of zoa rock.

Over time one of the green mushies has moved up the back wall. This gave birth to the idea of building up zoa rock and placing the toad higher up (more light??)

I hope it gets so huge that it causes problems up there!

Heya, thanks for the kind words.

I do 2ish gallon water changes twice a month. I don't run any kind of filters/skimmer so I view it as my primary mechanical Filtration.

9mls of All for Reef daily do the perimeter upkeep.

I ran 3 fish for the first year and half but Nitrates where always dropping. Had to dose Nitrates to keep them up. So I added 2 more fish and now my Nitrates are much more stable 15-20ish.
My Phosphates are always dropping so I add 1/10 a teaspoon of reef roids twice a week. It keeps my phos .05 to .1

All of what I do has been a slow and calculated process. I test weekly without fail and make small adjustments.

I read a lot about 20 gallons before I started it up, never planned on more then 3 fish. This aquarium has a good size coral load and can handle the extra fish.

I try to keep fish that don't use each other's space.

1clown - water column
1 sixline - water column
1 tailspot blenny - lives in/on the rocks
2 orange spotted gobys (pair) - live UNDER the rocks.

So far no aggression issues.

I love my Nano. Let me know if I can assist more.

Over the last few months I started noticing my clove polyps looking "chewed" on top. It's killed almost all the clove at this point. Then I started noticing it on some zoas. I thought it might have been the emerald that passed awhile back so I waited to see.

Today I saw this guy on a zoa polyp.

Seriously!

Look closer!!

Before today I would have been in "Camp fine" regarding Asterina star fish.

I've now joined the R.O.S (remove on-site) camp.... maybe it's not them but I've got a feeling.

The gobies didn't freak out when I tried to photograph them tonight. I wish that little Platygyra grew faster. It doubled in size in 2 years.
