Waterbox 35.2 tank has been up 11 months using rodi water

Parameters
Salinity - 1.026
Phosphate - .09
Nitrate - 15
Calc - 400
Mag - 1450

I just lost a royal gramma this morning which was a huge shock because my corals are growing rapidly. I also had him for 8 months. No appetite for one day and a few white specs. I haven’t introduced any new fish or coral in the last 4 months. Last fish was introduced 3 months ago and was quarantined.

I do bi weekly 5 gallon water changed and my parameters are consistent. I use carbon and change the chemi pure elite once phosphates get to .15

What do my clown fish have and what do you think might of causes this ?

Looks like marine velvet, you need to move fish to QT tank and treat with copper. I would also run a UV sterilizer in the Display tank for a couple of weeks. If you dont treat it they are likely goners. Was probably latent in your system and presented when some stressor was introduced or because it was a Tuesday. It's treatable but I dont think I would let it ride.

Im seeinf secondary bacterial lesions in lieu of ich and associated with Brooklynella. If true, mucus generally starts at the facial area as well as gills and spreads across the body producing lesions as it progresses often confused with ich and can turn into secondary bacteria. Other symptoms will be lethargic behavior, refusing to eat and heavy breathing from the mucus.

Would you recommend the same treatment? Quarantined tank with copper safe? I have to go get copper at Petco since my LFS is closed for like a week. They have fritz aquatics coopersafe

While you can use coppersafe, I dont see this as ich especially with size of dots. Ruby Rally pro would be the treatment
Can you post video under same lighting?

Video helps with diagnosis. I’m leaning towards brooklynella or ich. Velvet usually doesn’t show spots, just rapid breathing and not eating.

That looks like Brooklynella. That is tough to treat without formalin, but formalin is tough to source and not really safe to use in a home. The next option would be to treat with Ruby Reef Rally Pro, both in the tank and as a higher dose dip for just the fish.

I agree—it does look like Brooklynella. If you can’t source Formalin or Ruby Reef Rally (Acriflavine) immediately, you can use freshwater dips and hydrogen peroxide baths as interim measures. I recommend moving the affected fish, along with any others in your display tank, into a quarantine tank. From there, you can perform a tank transfer method—just in case it’s not solely Brooklynella—while incorporating hydrogen peroxide, which is often readily available at local grocery or healthcare stores.

Consider doing a freshwater dip before transferring the fish to the new tank. While peroxide and freshwater dips might not fully eliminate Brooklynella, they can provide temporary relief and buy time until you receive the Formalin or Ruby Reef Rally.

It’s also essential to implement a fallow period for your display tank, leaving it fishless for at least 6–8 weeks. This deprives the parasite of its host and helps ensure it is eradicated before reintroducing any fish.

Brooklynella progresses quickly and can be devastating, so acting fast is crucial. From what I see, your clownfish are still swimming well and seem healthy enough to handle freshwater dips and peroxide baths. I hope this helps, and good luck!

Unfortunately I lost both clown fish in the QT tank. I wasn’t able to get the medication in time.

I am going to pull the last fish in the tank and put it in QT

in regards to my main tank, once it’s fishless what’s the next step to remove whatever bacteria / disease that’s in there? I plan on getting a UV sterilizer but I’m not sure what though

Generally, if an aquarium is run fishless for 60 days, all of the common fish diseases will have died out during that time due to a lack of a host.

Can wrasses get Brooklynella also? I’m noticing white spots on my last fish. It’s a wrasse. I just got my medication in today and my LFS is now open so I plan to get some copper power.

I can't see the wrasse really clearly, but yes, they can develop Brooklynella (and ich). Copper doesn't work well against Brooklynella and of course, must be administered in a QT with no invertebrates present.

You could try Ruby Reef Rally Pro - it is more effective than copper against brooklynella, and you can dose your DT with it. The caveat is that it doesn't always work in advanced infections.
