Take good care of them @armyvetheather. Well, as soon as UPS gets their issh together lol.

RIGHT? Ugh, this is twice in two weeks. I can say I likely won't ship during this time period today. My UPS driver was telling me that the order sorters are all college kids up in KY and they go home this time of year so it is a bigger mess than usual on top of the holidays.

Hm. Imagine running your business that’s dependent on seasonal staff with time sensitive products being shipped. There would never be a problem.

That's a very good point. They really should anticipate that and fix it.

They're not wrong.

I live near Louisville, they are all the time hiring part time help. They have special programs and will pay for their college tuition. The kids work hellish hours though and the grind and burnout is real.

They pay for UofL and local colleges, most kids live right here and continue to work.

That combined with the current tiktok/YouTube mental capacity and you get...

That is really awesome but really sad at the same time. I'm a bit conflicted as to how to feel about that.

Counter argument is don’t hire part time. It’s a grueling job. I know. I have friends that worked for UPS but to depend on seasonal, part time staff, either a. Get the tech to remove the need for those sorters or b. Hire quality staff that rotates their function so there’s not brain drain from doing the same role for years. I know ups pays well even part timers but pay peanuts. You get monkeys.

@SBB Corals . This is just a suggestion. Have you thought about using the 72 hrs rate heat pack instead of 40 hrs for this time of the year. Also, put a layer of newspaper on top of corals, then the heat packs taped to inside lid, then poke a hole through foam lid for air to work with the heat pack. I don't like the peanuts turning into mush
