What size hose? They do make check valves for larger hose just like the ones for air lines.%##^. I thought I had this fixed. About 5 -10 gallons of RO siphoned from my ATO into my tank. Caught it but beyond annoyed. This is with a siphon break but it had gotten submerged. Having my ATO get water down to the correct level and then adding salt to compensate. So much for me and my nailing stability.
Where I’m pointing is the correct water level. Hydrometer is reading 1.23 when it was a perfect 1.26.
I created a serious raise in the line now so.. hopefully that’s done
Also yes. I know the back of my tank is a rat nest. Need to clean up.
Dude. How does this even happen? Much less twice.%##^. I thought I had this fixed. About 5 -10 gallons of RO siphoned from my ATO into my tank. Caught it but beyond annoyed. I’m not even sure. I put the siphon break on it and now have the hose wayyyy elevated above the ATO tank and sump. I have a gift?Dude. How does this even happen? Much less twice.
1/4”. I think my main issue was the ATO tank water was higher than the hose and the sump which allowed water to slowly trickle in.What size hose? They do make check valves for larger hose just like the ones for air lines.
Not if it’s in the @robanister household. I would argue they are not fine
You post problems I’ve never had in 20+ years. Then. I see it’s happened a second time.
Hose was running about that low to the sump.
I dunno...I just know gravity....and not having any lines submerged. Hence....it doesn't even cross my mind as a possibility. I'm sitting here thinking of ways I could actually make that happen..and it seems like work...lol.

Put ato tank on ground level. Run tubing to sump. Connect with little U bracket so ato tube comes into sump like an inch or two below the top. Problem solved
Are you originally from FL?Been like this since day 1. Hopefully I’ve now fixed it by having the hose run up a foot then loop down to the tank. When idiots walk. They walk in stupid ways.
So got a question for ya. Why not have the end of you ato water line above the water level? That should prevent any syphoning%##^. I thought I had this fixed. I don’t even use an ato on my main reef
Easy...nothing complicated about it.
I think he does. But the ato container is higher than the waterline so it’s still “downhill”.So got a question for ya. Why not have the end of you ato water line above the water level? That should prevent any syphoning
Yep… mine looks the same. Either way. Hose is now really elevated. That issue should be eliminated. Just raised my salinity perfectly back to 1.26. Hopefully that’s swing won’t hurt anything too badly. Dropped salinity for an hour or two at most.
Easy...nothing complicated about it.
Same lol
He needs like a 1 gallon ato so worst case is…no impact or flooding
Then. When ready. We can step up to a 5g
