So I'm starting to wonder if
A) my UPS driver can't read a map and find my house
B) has lost 2 packages that where supposed ti be delivered today
Or C) is a no good dirty thief stealing my phyto and pod order from Dinkins, and now my refractometer calibration fluid from Amazon.
Supposedly they couldn't deliver again today, due to weather issues. B -F 'ing S. Its been sunny and in the 50's here.

I’ve had them drive by my house then the tracking says undeliverable. And next day, it magically shows up. Guess it was deliverable after all

Notes. Suprisingly my phos and nitrates I couldn’t be happier with. When I was doing reef roids my phos hit like .2 but I stopped it and my phos as sitting at a nice comfy .02 and nitrates are sitting at 15. If that’s the balance my tank wants to strike, perfect. I’ll chase numbers but not CHASE numbers. If there’s any one thing I’ve noticed any impact on my corals has been alk. My tank is still too new to have self stabilized. In May is its first year bday. It’s getting there. Slowly. Dinos seem to have taken a good halt too. I’m curious to see if it’s because of 3 main things

I introduced Fuji live rock, live rock from another two stores, seeded heavily using 30 gallons of water from Shane’s, bacterial dosed, and been doing phyto. The Dino’s are there but they seem to just be ‘there’ no growth. No progress. That’s a win to me.

It could be also another thing - the section where I have the helix light blasting there has been nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Wondering if it’s because the lights at 100 and this dino strain prefers it darker.

Either way I’m throwing cheese at a wall. Or, it could be the answer of everything including forcing reef roids (if needed) and i intentionally leave dirty filter socks to not even let the tank come close to sniffing 0/0/0. (My skimmer is on medium setting as well)

I really liked reef roids though. It pulled me out of my 0/0/0 stage when I was feeding SO heavy and dosing nitrates and phosphates with it all disappearing.

My bioload from fish also increased.

TLDR it could be my tank is maturing and I slapped it with enough positives to get it in an ok place.
Sounds like you are in a good spot, especially after just 6 months. I think a month will be a good start.

I have two tanks. My main tank is 6 years old but seeded and cross stocked from a tank that I had for 4 years before that. This is my SPS tank. I run it Alk 8.5-9 Ca 480 and Nitrate 0 and Phosphate 0.1 or less. I have great growth of SPS AND LPS and softies. I think some nitrates are there but consumed by my softies and fuge to keep it very close to zero.

My second tank has my eel and is a dirtier tank. My nitrates run 20-30 but I just setup the fuge and hoping to get that number to 15 or less. This tank is about the same age as yours. I wasn’t dosing for Alk and Ca and while Zoas and LPS are doing good, the frag of sps I tossed in there as a test died right away.

All this to say, two tanks same room same filters same lights, same water source, but one is thriving and one “failing”.

I’m certain it’s the stability of Alk and Ca first and possibly lower nitrates secondly.

I hate chasing numbers but doing what I can to achieve stability in those parameters seems to be my key to success.

Eels are messy eaters
SPS like stable alk. I think It’s one of the most important parameters. Phosphates can affect color. Alk can cause tissue peeling
