Good to know. I just tested again. 7.4 on alk. Not sure what happened on the last test but I’m going to say this one is correct. Alk wouldn’t have dropped over a point in 5-6 hours. Dosing 2 tsp. If everything is as it should be then tomorrow morning it should read 8.3-5. If it does I’ll give a third dose to raise it closer to 9. Starting to get the hang of it fairly easily. Just matter of finding the pattern.

Yes and the key is stability. Your tank isn’t new but it’s been through a lot. Things need to calm down and balance out and stabilize. Just give it time and for now observe and react as needed to keep it in the target zone. Keep notes. And learn the tank and how to handle / correct alk.

Will do. The swing was somewhat predicted being that I didn’t tend it yesterday. Guess that’s where automation will come in. And yes. My tank has seen quite a bit…. This is probably the most calm it’s had ever. Even with Dino’s being aggressive at the moment.

And now that you are testing often, recording results, seeing what’s happening each day, hopefully you understand why at this time, your tank isn’t ready for automated dosing on dosing pumps. If you pump in the same amount of all mix each day, well,..some days you need more and some you need less, tank isn’t stable, so we can’t dose a set amount each day. Right now we need to be reactive, dose as/ when needed, and wait and watch for when the pattern starts and things are consistent each day: week
