Also, it has exactly 10 dorsal spines if you count in the picture I posted. I'm by no means an expert on these fish, just this one did have the longest snout I've seen on these types of fish.

I counted at least 11, tiny one up front is a bit obscured by the writing. I didn't see any dots on his chin or chest area.

They are a few variations, interesting fish either way. But even the other ones I've seen always had the full black eye.

What do you run your magnesium at? That coralline grows pretty fast on the PETG.

Reading up on them, they get a little bigger. Seems like the consensus is they are reef safe, I am assuming it is due to an even smaller mouth on their long beaks. Interesting.

I'm kinda liking the one at the LFS.

It was, a bit of a hidden gem really, among several lesser versions.

If I had a mp40 I would have designed mine own.

Just need like 1ml a week per 100 gallons mixed in with rodi in a glass...stirred...dump in sump. Furthermore..an icp will tell you where your silicate are.

@VintageReefer i notice a lot of battery set ups end up not being behind a gfci…. Is that a big deal?

I would always recommend a gfci. I believe they make plug in ones if the wall doesn’t have one

Was talking with Randy Holmes as well as Mack’s Dino page. Saying I should be dosing 2ml daily and that technically you can’t overdose the silicates. That I should proceed until I observe the diatom bloom. Interestingly. Dr. Holmes also stated he dosed silicates almost daily for 10 years.

That said. I agree. I think I need a deep dive under the hood to see what’s up and how fungoled the tank is due to my inexperience

Even easier. If you can’t or don’t want to do the outlet get a gfci circuit breaker and just install it to the line.

If he gave you that advice then follow it. He's a far greater mind in that area than me and I would trust his recommendation
