Also, it has exactly 10 dorsal spines if you count in the picture I posted. I'm by no means an expert on these fish, just this one did have the longest snout I've seen on these types of fish.
I counted at least 11, tiny one up front is a bit obscured by the writing. I didn't see any dots on his chin or chest area.

They are a few variations, interesting fish either way. But even the other ones I've seen always had the full black eye.

K. Good knowledge, thank you. I saw it and was excited for you, thought I can run it through QT with my tang and mail it off to you if it was a Holy Grail type fish you've been hunting for. This one in the store is looking pretty chunky, so good health sign.
Thanks for looking out. I messaged a few online vendors as the had them listed as longirostris. When I inquired they said it wasn't, just what the shipper had them labeled. They changed the listing right after that.

Reading up on them, they get a little bigger. Seems like the consensus is they are reef safe, I am assuming it is due to an even smaller mouth on their long beaks. Interesting.

I'm kinda liking the one at the LFS.

@stoney7713 even if the mp40 cover was a file from the interweb. Gotta say. Markedly large improvement over the original design. Much sturdier.
Beer Ok GIF by Busch
It was, a bit of a hidden gem really, among several lesser versions.

If I had a mp40 I would have designed mine own.

Aw. My acan was doing the well and had 4 babies. Whatever swing is going on waxed them. :angry-face:. I’m gonna be it’s the loud wolf silicate. Betting I wasn’t diluting it enough.

Just need like 1ml a week per 100 gallons mixed in with rodi in a glass...stirred...dump in sump. Furthermore..an icp will tell you where your silicate are.

Was talking with Randy Holmes as well as Mack’s Dino page. Saying I should be dosing 2ml daily and that technically you can’t overdose the silicates. That I should proceed until I observe the diatom bloom. Interestingly. Dr. Holmes also stated he dosed silicates almost daily for 10 years.

That said. I agree. I think I need a deep dive under the hood to see what’s up and how fungoled the tank is due to my inexperience

If he gave you that advice then follow it. He's a far greater mind in that area than me and I would trust his recommendation
