She’s just rubbing it in…May win by default!Wrong thread...lol
I have not, you've probably read more than I know about them really.@stoney7713 or anyone else that quarantine, anyone quarantine anthias? I read the guides here and on Humblefish and people seem split on if they can tolerate copper.
I fail to see a banana. I thought this crew only measured in bananas.Got ruler from @Reefing_addiction
You just made me think that it’s almost a year. Probably should buy a second titanium replacement heater from brs soon. Annually change right?Or scallop brought in bad bacteria

The thing that fails in heaters is the thermostat and the heater ends up staying on and not turning offYou just made me think that it’s almost a year. Probably should buy a second titanium replacement heater from brs soon. Annually change right?
Hm... They want to swim, so I want to run hybrid TTM on them, just seems like a mess to do a larger tank with them for that. Argh, decisions to make tonight on what I want to setup for next batch of incoming fish...I have not, you've probably read more than I know about them really.

I am going to have permanent QT tanks. I need to build them a stand, I need to move the big tank into the house to have space for a tank. I think I need to run 3 QT tanks. 2 separate copper systems and one 40g breeder for observation/prazi after 14 days copper.Swim in water? Wine? Jello? Jello wine?
You're going to end up with permanent quarantine tanks in your garage.
I have one in my kitchen, supposed to be set up for a month and going on two.
Oh. Okay. So my inkbird and dummy titanium heater I’m good to go for a while then. Cool. The thing that fails in heaters is the thermostat and the heater ends up staying on and not turning off
The best solution is to remove all the technology from the heater and place it remotely in a separate controller.
You want a heating element - a heat rod, with a power cord, and nothing else. No thermostats or circuitry, nothing. You plug it in, and it’s on.
Then a good controller preferably with old fashioned double mechanical relays.
It will send power and stop power to the heater and it’s much less likely the controller will fail. But they can and will eventually as relays get “stuck”. My controller lasted 10 or more years, alerted me with an alarm when it broke, and I replaced it with the exact same one. And, I’m still using the same titanium heat element as there’s nothing to break with that and it’s independent from the controller
If I even float the idea of a frag tank down the road my wife would probably kill me. Probably 3x per week she asks me why I’m giggling or who I’m typing to and my response typically is a sarcastic my girlfriend and then tell her this forum. Then comes the eye roll. Despite failing plenty so far, yes I am quite enjoying the hobby.I am going to have permanent QT tanks. Post fish stocking, one will become a frag tank, one will be an observation tank/invert & coral quarantine.I am going to have permanent QT tanks. Looked to be plenty of room behind the display... just sneak a 48×24×12 back there when she's not home... never know it's there. If I even float the idea of a frag tank down the road my wife would probably kill me.
